Lead User Researcher at Creative Empathy

Naintara Land Tara (Naintara) has worked as a user researcher for over 20 years, with roles including the User Research Lead on GOV.UK, and Lead User Researcher for the National Health Service (NHS) Digital. Tara has been using sketching and visualisation techniques as part of her professional work for ages. For example, Tara created the only GOV.UK blog that consists solely of doodles. More recently, Tara created posters as part of the deliverables for a large discovery project to understand the experience of enterprise organisations implementing a data centre solution. Tara found that visualisation helped to communicate complex technical findings in a way that kept the user experience at the heart of the narrative and built empathy.

Workshop 1 | Bringing Research Findings to Life through Visualisation

How do you increase engagement, and grab the attention of stakeholders who are just too busy to rock up to a presentation or read a report? We will present how to do that through visualisation, and teach some ‘no skills required’ techniques to use on a real-life research challenge.
